This clip was shot back in September in Bali…  We went out one evening to the Ubud hotspot Havana to hear some Latin music…  Tallulah must have been feeling her Cuban blood because she boldly went up to the resident dance instructor and asked him to teach her how to Salsa!

“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.”

So, we were in Bali, just one week into our ten month trip, and Amelia was not really recovering from her jet lag - still feeling tired and kind of nauseous (as well as “late”) - so she decided to take a test just to rule out the least likely scenario… Guess what?! Against all odds, including prevention and biology, we are having a baby…(!!!). Needless to say this is utterly unexpected, especially at this point in our lives, but we are embracing it as a blessing and trusting that there is some Wisdom at work here.

Amelia had a very rough time while we were abroad - constantly sick and mostly in bed - as the heat and noise and pungent smells of Asia are challenging for a pregnant woman (or anyone for that matter), so it is wonderful to be back in our own home with the loving support of friends and family.

One adventure comes to a premature end, but is replaced by something much more wondrous and profound.

…and the gods laughed…

Those of you who have been following along with our journey so far might be a little confused at this point… How did our languorous 10 month expedition around southern Asia become a truncated 6 week vacation in Indonesia and Thailand?!
Well, that’s a funny story…

That pint-size metropolis on the horizon is Sacramento, which means we are about 20 minutes from home!!!

Our Cathay Pacific flight from Bangkok to Hong Kong had this super-cool belly camera on the plane so we could watch ourselves take off and land… We have liftoff!

Myself, watching the sunset from our berth on the overnight train from Chiang Mai to Bangkok.
